Book an appointmentThese methods are often used if the man is, for example, sterilized or has azoospermia. TESE/PESA is the surgical extraction of sperm and takes place under local anesthesia.
PESA (Percutaneous Epidydimal Sperm Aspiration) is where sperm is extracted out of the epididymis with a thin needle.
TESE (Percutaneous Epidydimal Sperm Aspiration) is an operative retrieval of sperm from the testicle. A biopsy is taken which the embryologist then places under a microscope in the hope of finding live sperm that can be used for IVF treatment.
