At a gynecological examination at Klinikk Hausken, the gynecologist will do a general examination of you. The gynecologist will usually examine the external genital organ, cervix and vagina. The gynecologist can also take a cell sample from the cervix. Norwegian women in the 25-70 age group are recommended to take a cell test every three years.
When needed, the gynecologist conducts microbiological examinations. If you want to test for chlamydia, the gynecologist takes a sample from the cervix. It is common to take this test in case of discharge.
An examination of the uterus and ovaries can detect any tumors. Ultrasound examination can also be a useful tool in a gynecological examination to rule out tumor in the lower abdomen.
