Dr. Arne Schwennicke

Already since 2003 he worked in the fertility department at the public clinic in Haugesund and became section head physician in 2007, before joining Klinikk Hausken in 2008.

Arne has 20 years of experience in fertility research and treatment and since 2023 leads our department in Stavanger, where he is the only employed doctor.

Through continuous continuing education, he has a wide range of knowledge and is active as a member of both a Norwegian and a Norwegian/Swedish expert group of fertility doctors.

Dr. Schwennicke has previously been a deputy member of the PGD committee headed by the Directorate of Health.

His specialty is male infertility. In 2015, he attended the urology faculty at the University of Muenster/Germany with Professor Kliesch, and taught himself Micro-TESE, an advanced surgical method for the search for sperm in testicular tissue. He introduced the method at Klinikk Hausken in 2016 as the first in Norway and has accumulated extensive experience and knowledge as well as good results through well over 150 such operations.

In addition to being a fertility doctor, Arne is the head of the physician group and also “COO” at Klinikk Hausken, i.e. the main responsible for the day-to-day operations.

Dr. Schwennicke emphasizes efficiency, quality and service in his working day to day. A well-integrated multidisciplinary team is key to the well-being of both employees and customers. As a long-time quality coordinator at Klinikk Hausken, he has established good routines that ensure the core of these elements.

In his free time, Arne enjoys everything that has to do with exercise and sports. He has been an active tennis player for over 40 years and has won 3 NM titles in the 40 and 45 years class. He has participated in 7 Marathon races and a half Ironman and played basketball in clubs in Germany and Haugesund.

Family life, spending time with friends, exercise and board games mean that he is (mostly) well-informed and motivated at work and can have full focus on patient care in everyday life.
