Research, the use of new methods and ambitious goals allow us to improve our treatment options and our outcomes.
Book an appointmentClinic Hausken has a great focus on improvement. We have set ourselves ambitious goals to deliver the best results. We are working methodically to achieve this. Clinic Hausken has a large database and all types of measures are evaluated and compared on what gives positive effects. We are open to new knowledge and new methodology. New treatments are evaluated on theory and publications. New sensible ideas are quickly implemented in the clinic and evaluated on efficacy.
Examples of this are timelapse technology. Advanced equipment that films embryo development. We were the first in Norway with this type of technology and are at the forefront when it comes to understanding this new information flow. In this regard, our associates are invited speakers at international congresses, and also co-authors on scientific papers on the importance of embryo development to understand which ones are normal.
Time-lapse technology is the most important innovation in assisted fertilization.
In order to select the best embryo for return in IVF treatment, it is important to have as much information as possible about the development potential of the embryo. Previously, this was done with microscopy, where the number of cells and shape were assessed. More important, however, is to see when the events (cell division) occur, and how long the cells spend on this.
Time-lapse incubators take pictures of each embryo every ten minutes. This means that we are able to assess the activity of cells throughout the day. We get much more information about the potential of the embryo for normal development and thus increase the chance of the right embryo being selected for reversion.
Klinikk Hausken was the first clinic in Norway to acquire this new technology.
We have this technology in all our clinics. This means that all embryos are housed in these modern incubation boxes, and is the only clinic in Norway that can routinely offer this to all patients.
The first time-lapse incubator (EmbryoScope) was purchased in 2011. We now have a lot of experience interpreting this new information and have learned a lot about normal and not normal embryo development. The figures show that the use of time-lapse technology has increased the number of children born per embryo returned by a whopping 24%.
A morphokinetic timeline applicable to all embryos from all patient groups.
Clinic Hausken presents as the first in the world a timeline of cell development that indicates success or not in patients undergoing IVF treatment.
Errori di nucleazione e dispositivi di cleavage durante la sviluppo humana.
Klinikk Hausken presents data on irregular and aberrant cell division as a near normality of normal development and repair mechanisms.
Possibilità e limitazioni di dati.
How results from assisted fertilization can be abused.
Limitations of a time-lapse blastocyst prediction model: a large multicentre outcome analysis.
Shabana Sayed, lab manager at Klinikk Hausken, is one of the leaders in embryology and sits centrally in several professional groups developing timelapse technology.
A large prospective study showing the prognosis of success at further IVF treatment despite several negative attempts in the public domain. The study has spanned several years and will be published in 2014/15. Results show that one despite 3 or more negative trials has > 60% chance of success if one changes clinic.
A multicenter prospective observational study of coriofollitropin alfa (Elonva) vs standard treatment.
The study is worldwide and puts a focus on the physical, mental and financial strain associated with IVF treatment.
A Model to Calculate Embryo Viability and Female Receptivity.
Own developed model to calculate the relative contribution to implantation from the embryo and the endometrium (mucosa).
New paper planned in which the leading players in timelapse technology will attempt to develop common understanding and interpretation of the embryo's capacity to implant and develop into a fetus.
Ovarian response prediction in controlled ovarian stimulation with 150 μg corifollitropin alfa in a GnRH-antagonist protocol.
The study has investigated how to predict the outcome of a hormone stimulation for assisted fertilization. There are two parameter, which are of importance with respect to the expected stimulation result. One (AFC) is measured with the help of an ultrasound examination, the other is a blood test (AMH).
Follow-up of children born after treatment of couples in which the sperm is extracted directly from the testicle 2013.
Norwegian multicenter study published in 2013. Clinic Hausken was a major contributor.
The PGD committee assesses and decides which couples should be able to undergo preimplantation diagnostics of the embryo before return. Typical diagnoses are serious hereditary diseases.
The Biotechnologinemda is the health authorities' body for determining how assisted fertilization should be designed in Norway.
